Boys Knitting

This semester, I've gotten countless amounts of people to pick up knitting.
Today however, I managed to teach my amazing boyfriend the craft as well.
We are both sick, so we set in for a night of Woody Allen movies and vegging on the couch.
But this time- He agreed to knit! I gave him a skein of blue red heat super saver, and he made quite a bit of progress. Actually, he commented how easy it was, and laughed at our friend who took a week to learn to do a stitch. "That's all there is to it?" he kept saying. He's going to knit me a scarf, and was concerned about all of the holes.

I'll love it anyways.

Unfortunately, It is a tad bit too short. I think a little bit of blocking will fix that.

I'm just glad to be finished.

The Winter Time...

...Is something of a tough time for me. No, it's not the Cleveland snow, or the blisteringly cold, windy walks through campus that strike fear into my heart. As a knitter, I quite enjoy the winter time, it gives me the opportunity to show off whatever I've been working on all year. Sweaters, hats, scarves, mittens, I love it all. However, the one thing I don't love about winter is the sweaters, hats, scarves and mittens of OTHER people.
It has been cold enough for these articles of knitwear for about 2 weeks now, and so far the parade of chenille hats and fun fur scarves has sickened me to my very core.
I am sick of the sparkely crochet tams, and the winter- themed intarsia caps. I am sick of the goofy cables and over sized bobbles.
Enough.
For serious people.

Holiday knitting into high gear

I am officially kicking my holiday knitting into high gear. I've finished a lot of things today, but there is still more knitting to do. But isn't there always?

Yet to knit, I have to knit items for:
  • Zachary (My new, finally born baby brother)
  • Erica
  • Katelyn
  • Josh's Grandma
  • Matt
  • Daniel
Fortunately, most of those are children and won't take that much to finish them.

Today, I finished a few things; mittens for Nikki, a hat for Brynn, and a mouse for either Matthew or Daniel. I made a grey one, got too attached and had to make another to give away.
